Luciol Evolution

Short term evolution concerns new modules and increased power in RAM & FLASH memory. In particular, we are working on an additional 2 off RS232/485 module.

Regarding software, we target first development of major industrial protocols, SOAP & SQL and new applications for Luciol.

Long term evolution: this is sensitive matter !

Our approach is clear: we work to merge communication devices and control equipment.

Indeed, the advent of IP and the integration of OSI Layers in one unique device has shown the way to go.

Luciol will provide a fully integrated solution to address integration of 7 layers in the same box.

There will be then no further need for a separate hub, switch, router, gateway, ... Luciol will provide the all-in-one box communication device.

Besides hardware & installation benefits, your LAN and industrial protocols management will be centralized.		 Regarding software, we work to develop an XML based protocol allowing:
  • identification of protocols as services
  • process data will include their graphical representations & behaviors
  • self discovering of process data & services
Simply imagine you will only configure once your protocols and I/Os !

This protocol, as Luciol, targets the Indutrial market and does not pretend to be universal.

Secret code name of this protocol is B2IT. The protocol should become Open Source once the 1st prototype is completed.

The graphical object exentions will use the data definition from IEC 61850.
